China

A business trip to China was my first visit outside of the United States, until that point I had never even been to Mexico or Canada. My first day in China was a free day, so I went to see Tiananmen Square and the palaces in the Forbidden City. My biggest regret was not bringing a better camera, all I had with me was a little point and shoot. Still, I'm glad I had it compared to nothing at all.

Beijing

Coming into the Forbidden City from Tiananmen Square in the south, you walk through massive buildings that served as protective gates into the city.
Even though much of the Forbidden City was closed off for renovations, it still took me all afternoon to walk through the various palaces and support buildings. The intricate detail in the architecture of the buildings was stunning.
My favorite part of the Forbidden City was the dragon guardians adorning every building.
Just a few pictures from the famous square in Beijing. My favorite part of Tiananmen Square was the people I met, but unfortunately it didn't dawn on me to take pictures of them.

Shanghai

I took a ton of pictures of this beautiful part of the city lit up against the night sky, but without a tripod, most of them came out too blurry to use.
