The Lion & The Lamb
As a kitten, Scout had a penchant for playing with Templeton that often involved her biting his head. He didn't always appreciate the gesture but was always gentle in his rebuke. Sometimes, though, the lion did lie down with the lamb, and the lion took a nap instead of biting the lamb on the head.

This window seat was in my office and would be one of the things I would miss most when we moved.

Snuggly
When he wasn't sleeping on one of us, Templeton liked to sleep by himself. Scout, on the other hand, loved to snuggle with Templeton. Templeton didn't usually appreciate the gesture and often got up and moved away. Then Scout realized that when he was in a deep sleep, Templeton often let her snuggle rather than get up and move, so she'd sneak in and drape herself across his legs.

Sometimes when Scout would jump up and join Templeton while he was napping, they'd end up curled up together and happy as clams. But sometimes …

The New House in Portland

New Locations
Our move to Portland was an unwelcome intrusion to two cats who hated change to their routine. While the movers unloaded our stuff, Scout and Templeton huddled tightly together in the back of the bathroom. But soon enough they found favorite perches in their new environment, Scout took to the top of the staircase in the early days (she rarely sits there anymore).
